The course runs along the shore of Kent Lake through Kensington Metro Park, starting and finishing at Maple Beach. The terrain is mostly flat with wooded surroundings on either side, so the route stays shaded and quiet even as the Halloween timing brings out costumes and some festive energy from the crowd at the waterfront start area.
