About the Michigan Humane Tailgate! Run. Walk. Adopt.

The race starts at Roosevelt Park in Corktown and heads out through Southwest Detroit, swinging through a riverside park before coming back along the Southwest Detroit Greenway to Michigan Central Station. The route is open to dogs, and plenty of people bring them. The walk option follows a shorter loop with a fundraising angle, carrying on a longtime tradition.

Post-race, the area around Michigan Central Station fills out considerably. There are food trucks, a beer garden, and live music. A large adoption event runs alongside the race, with animals available to meet on-site, so plan for extra time if you are curious about that side of things.
