About the Mesa County Search & Rescue 5K

The race starts and finishes at the Fruita Community Center, running through the city as part of the Fruita Fall Festival weekend. It benefits Mesa County Search and Rescue, an all-volunteer nonprofit, so the crowd skews toward people who know the organization and want to support it. Age categories run from young kids through older adults, with prizes for the top finishers in each.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Mesa County Search and Rescue tent in the festival area downtown, with a second window at the Community Center on race morning before the start. Parking is at Shelledy Elementary School, a short walk from the start.
