The course starts and finishes at a softball field beside the middle school, then winds through a city park. Underfoot you get a mix of grass and pavement, and there are a couple of hills to work through before you come back around. The race runs alongside a city-wide end-of-summer celebration, so the surroundings feel lively. Proceeds support a local scholarship fund for area high school seniors.
