About the Medal Madness 5K, & 10K at Manheim, PA, (13)
The course runs on compact gravel through a shaded stretch, so even on a warm morning the tree cover makes a difference. It is an out-and-back layout, repeated several times depending on your distance, which means you are always on familiar ground and can gauge your effort on each pass.
Packet pickup opens shortly before the start and closes just before the gun, so arriving with a little buffer is wise. Bathrooms are in the parking lot, right where you need them before the race.
