About the Mayor's 5K Run/Walk
The race starts and finishes at Lake Eva Park, looping out through the surrounding neighborhood streets before returning to the park trail and finishing on the Great Lawn. The route circles the lake, so the water stays close for much of the run. Proceeds go to Relay for Life, which gives the morning a purpose beyond the race itself.
Trophies go to the top finishers in both the adult and youth categories, so there is competitive hardware on the table for those chasing a place.
