About the May The Course Be With You

This is a Star Wars-themed charity run that starts and finishes at Lawndale Baptist Church, which also hosts and underwrites the event. Costumes are encouraged, and a volunteer panel judges them during the pre-race window. Proceeds go to Glenwood Together, a neighborhood organization in Greensboro that runs an urban farm, a summer reading club, and community events.

Packet pickup runs at Fleet Feet locations on the two days before the race, with stops in both Greensboro and Winston-Salem, and a shorter race-morning window as a backup. The Wired Cafe Coffee Bus is on site through late morning, and there is a post-race awards ceremony covering both the top finishers and the costume contest winners.
