About the Massapequa Park Turkey Trot

The main race follows a route around a lake, and there is also a shorter youth fun run on a loop near the water. Brady Park is the race site, so the start and finish are in the same spot. The course is flat enough that most of the challenge comes from the holiday-morning crowd, not the terrain.

Bib pickup runs the evening before at YES CCC on Grand Avenue, or on race morning at Brady Park before the start. Day-of registration is available at pickup for a small additional fee.

Common Questions About the Massapequa Park Turkey Trot

Will I finish last at the Massapequa Park Turkey Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the race field finished slower than 34:23, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:16:48, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Massapequa Park Turkey Trot a good first race?

A field of 463 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first race, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Massapequa Park Turkey Trot?

The race winner ran 16:55 while the median finisher took 34:23. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
