About the Marklund Run, Walk & Roll 5K/1Mile
The course is USATF certified and runs out of the Marklund Hyde Center campus, with chip timing for the longer distance and a shorter option that draws families and participants of all abilities. There is also a wheelchair race division that goes off first, so the start area has a range of people well beyond the usual road race crowd.
A post-race party in the park follows the finish, with food, drinks, vendors and entertainment on site. The event benefits Marklund's programs for individuals with profound disabilities, and that connection to the campus and its community gives the morning a different feel from a typical charity 5K.
