About the Maplewood Mile 5K - Run for the Trees
The course runs through Maplewood Park on a mix of paved and crushed-gravel paths, shaded by mature maples for most of the route. There is a turnaround at a pond, and the route comes back to finish on the open green at the center of town, passing a historic gazebo along the way. The terrain is mostly flat with a few gentle surface changes between pavement and gravel.
Packet pickup opens race morning at the community center, with a briefing on the green shortly before the start. Parking is free at the high school, with a shuttle running to the start. After the race, there are snacks, coffee, and a food truck setup near the finish, along with kids' activities.
