About the 8th Annual Maple Valley Turkey Trot 5K
The course runs through Lake Wilderness Park, mostly flat with a mix of pavement and gravel. There is one gentle incline where the route connects to the Green to Cedar River Trail, but it is brief. The out-and-back layout keeps things simple, and volunteers are posted along the way. Costumes and Thanksgiving accessories are very much encouraged.
Packet pickup opens early on race morning at the Beach House, and there is coffee, snacks, and a photo booth to keep things lively before the start. Water stations are set up at the start and finish area. The lower parking lots near the arboretum are the ones to use, since the upper lots by the lodge are closed on race day.
