About the Mancos Cowboy Half Marathon, 5K, and Fun Run

The course runs through the Mancos Valley on a mix of gravel roads, paved county roads, and rougher trail. The off-road section cuts through land that burned years ago, so you pass standing dead trees alongside thick new growth coming back in. That stretch is narrow and rocky in places, worth treating carefully. The 5K is an out-and-back on a quiet paved road, uphill out and fast coming home.

Packet pickup is at the Mancos Public Library the evening before, with race-morning pickup at the start line in the library parking lot. Parking is along Grand Ave and at Boyle Park, a short walk to the start. After the half, you can cool your feet in the Mancos River beside the finish. The race benefits the public library directly.
