About the Mableton Pumpkin Chase

The course winds through the Mableton neighborhood with the start and finish in an amphitheater parking lot. Decorated pumpkins line the route, and costumed characters pop up along the way, which keeps things interesting on what is otherwise a neighborhood run. There is a water stop at roughly the halfway point, and a pet walk option means you may see some creatively costumed dogs at the start.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at Big Peach Running Co. in Vinings, and a community run on a nearby trail follows if you want to shake out your legs. Race-morning pickup is available for those who miss it. Parking is free near the start, with attendants to direct you. Post-race, there is Halloween candy, a costume contest, a wellness village, and live entertainment.

Common Questions About the Mableton Pumpkin Chase

Will I finish last at the Mableton Pumpkin Chase?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 39:14, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:55, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Mableton Pumpkin Chase a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 405 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Mableton Pumpkin Chase?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 18:31 while the median finisher took 39:14. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
