About the Lydia's Run 5k
The race starts behind St. Martin Church on Maple Street, in the parking lot. The course itself is a road run through Somersworth, tied to a cause rather than a competitive clock: the event raises money for Lydia's House of Hope, a transitional-living program supporting women and children affected by homelessness and domestic violence. Dogs on leash are welcome at the start.
Post-race there are refreshments and activities on site, with space for kids and families to stick around. There is also a raffle. The morning draws volunteers and supporters alongside runners, so the parking lot stays lively well after the course clears.
