About the Ludlow Volunteer Firefighters Association 5 Alarm 5K Road Race/Walk
The race starts and finishes at the community center on Main Street, putting the whole morning in the middle of town. There is a best team costume award alongside the age group trophies, and fire departments from around the region compete to bring the fastest crew and the biggest turnout, which gives the field an unusual energy. A DJ plays through the morning.
Post-race is a cookout with burgers and hot dogs outside. Packet pickup and registration open early on race morning, so showing up ahead of the gun is straightforward. The start is on a main road through the center of Ludlow, which keeps logistics simple.
