About the 14th Annual Luc's Run

This race honors a US Air Force pilot from Tuolumne who died during a training mission over the Adriatic. The foundation behind it funds scholarships for education and personal development, so the entry fee goes directly toward that work. The course runs through the historic heart of town, with distance options for adults and a separate children's run.

A virtual option lets people run the same race from wherever they are, which has drawn participants from well outside the area. Local and remote runners are essentially running the same event on the same day, just in different places.

Common Questions About the 14th Annual Luc's Run

Will I finish last at the 14th Annual Luc's Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 2 Miles field finished slower than 21:38, and the last recorded finisher came in around 45:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 14th Annual Luc's Run a good first 2 Miles?

It is a small race (109 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 14th Annual Luc's Run?

The 2 Miles winner ran 11:40 while the median finisher took 21:38. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
