The course runs on a state park island between two towns, and the terrain is cross country style, off the pavement and across open ground. It is not a road race in any sense. Expect uneven footing and grass underfoot rather than asphalt.
After the awards ceremony there are random prize drawings, so it is worth hanging around. The start area is at the park, with registration available on race morning before the gun.
