About the LOOP THE LAKE The Great New York State Marathon Weekend
The course loops Onondaga Lake on a tree-lined path, so the water stays close for most of the run. It reads as flat, with the scenery doing most of the work. The weekend spreads across two days, with shorter distances on the first morning and the half and full marathon the next, plus a combined challenge for those who want to race both days.
Packet pickup is available across several windows: the evening before the first race day at a local running store, then at the amphitheater at Lakeview on each race morning before the starts. The amphitheater also serves as the race hub, so parking and the start area are in the same spot both days.
