The course starts and finishes at a city beach, and the terrain keeps shifting under your feet. A paved trail gives way to a floating bridge, then onto a grassy path called Tin Can Alley where the ground is uneven enough to make you pay attention. After that you cross a floating boardwalk and follow the shoreline of a lake back to the beach finish.
