About the Longview Early Edition Rotary Harvest Classic

The course runs past Lake Sacajawea and through downtown Longview, staying flat the whole way. Both distance options are USA Track & Field certified, so a personal best here counts. The RaceJoy app connects runners to local history along the route, which is a nice touch if you want something beyond mile markers.

The start is at a building on New York Street, with packet pickup available the evening before at a warehouse across town, or race morning at the start location. Parking in the area is not a problem. A short kids' fun run runs alongside the main event, with games and activities nearby for children.

Common Questions About the Longview Early Edition Rotary Harvest Classic

Will I finish last at the Longview Early Edition Rotary Harvest Classic?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 35:04, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:08, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Longview Early Edition Rotary Harvest Classic a good first 5K?

A field of 277 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Longview Early Edition Rotary Harvest Classic?

The 5K winner ran 15:44 while the median finisher took 35:04. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
