About the Live Like Leah 5K Memorial Race and 1 Mile Walk
The race is held at Wilson Farm Park, starting near the concession pavilion. The park gives the morning an open, unhurried feel. This is a memorial race for Leah Joy Bowers, a teacher and coach who passed away from cancer, and the proceeds go toward a camp program for individuals with special needs that she cared about deeply.
The start area and packet pickup are both at the concession pavilion. Professional timing is handled by a local racing company, so results come back quickly. Awards go to the top finishers overall and across age groups, with categories spread across the full range of ages.

The Live Like Leah 5K Memorial Race and 1 Mile Walk has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
