The start and finish are in front of a school, on a wide drive that gives spectators plenty of room to spread out and watch. Thanksgiving morning draws families more than competitive fields, and a coffee truck on site has hot coffee and hot chocolate for the crowd.
The kids race loops a large parking lot near the start area. Pets on leashes are welcome on the main course, which makes the start line a little livelier than most.
