About the Logan Turkey Trot 5k/1mile
The course runs on a brand-new trail built as part of a safe-routes-to-school project, so some of what you cover is pavement no one has raced on before. The shorter distance sticks to the trail as well, making both options feel tied to the same ribbon of new path through town.
The morning opens with a ceremony at the school marking the trail's launch, so plan to arrive a little early. Funds from entries go toward trail amenities like lighting, which gives the day a purpose beyond the finish line.
