About the LEGENDS NEVER DIE 5K

The course runs along the shoreline in the sand, which makes the footing softer than a typical road race. The event is hosted by the local fire department and carries real weight behind it, raising awareness around mental health and PTSD among first responders, veterans, and military families. There is a special award for the fastest firefighter running in full gear.

Paid parking is available near the beach, and free parking can be found at the city complex on Municipal Drive and along a nearby street, both within walking distance to the start. Private business lots in the area are off-limits and actively enforced.
