About the Le Grizz Ultramarathon & Relay
The course runs on gravel road beside a river that traces the western edge of Glacier National Park. It is an out-and-back, so you retrace the same road home, and the surrounding aspen and larch can be turning color by race day. The climbing is spread thin across the distance, with no single brutal section, just a rolling, undulating grade throughout.
The route passes through Polebridge, with a brief stop at the Mercantile built into the course as an aid station. The start and finish are at the Big Creek Outdoor Education Center, so there is a defined home base to return to rather than a downtown block or a park.
