About the Lawrence Shamrock Shuffle
The course winds through North Lawrence and the Pinkney neighborhood, passing through streets with older homes and a historic feel to them. It is a St. Patrick's Day race at heart, organized by the same committee that runs the city's parade, and the charity connection to local children's causes gives it a neighborhood-celebration character.
The evening before the race, packet pickup is held at a running store on Massachusetts Street. Race-morning pickup opens well before the start at Johnny's Tavern, which also serves as the start and finish. An Irish breakfast is waiting after you finish.
