About the Last Chance XC Championships
Oak Ridge Park hosts this end-of-season cross country meet on a double-loop course that is essentially flat, which makes it one of the faster XC venues around. The course suits runners chasing a personal best in the final weeks of the fall season. Crowds line the route, and the atmosphere reflects the competitive nature of a championship-style event.
The meet runs several waves across the morning, covering distances for younger runners, open and club athletes, and sanctioned high school competitors. High school races are restricted to registered school teams; unattached and club runners compete in separate waves earlier in the day. Team scoring runs across boys, girls, and co-ed categories.
