About the Lake Vian Hilltop Run
The course runs on a mix of paved walking trail and dirt singletrack through the woods, climbing to a hilltop with a view over the lake. The dirt sections are mostly smooth rather than technical, and one stretch runs alongside a creek bed. Because all distances share the same looped route, you pass through the main area repeatedly throughout your race.
Packet pickup is at the main pavilion by the start and finish, with an early pickup window the afternoon before and a race-morning window before the start. Overflow parking is down the highway, a short walk on paved trail to the start; if someone is dropping you off, the race site is the better spot to unload.
