About the Lafayette Res Run for Education
The race starts on a downtown street and sends different distances off at staggered times, so the morning has a rolling, unhurried start. The longer course runs through the Lafayette Reservoir, a paved trail looping around water, while shorter routes stay closer to the downtown starting area. Dogs and strollers are welcome on some distances but not all, so it is worth checking which before you show up.
Packet pickup runs across several days the week before at the Lafayette Chamber office, with a race-morning window as well. The start area stretches a full city block, and runners are encouraged to spread out rather than bunch at the line. Proceeds go directly to local schools, with each school receiving a share based on how many of its families registered.
