About the Lacing Up for Cancer Care 5k & 1mile run/walk & rock
The course runs through downtown Statesville, so expect pavement, street crossings, and the kind of scenery you get in a small city center. The event is built around cancer support, and that shapes the morning: there is a survivor celebration after the runners finish, and the atmosphere reflects that purpose more than it does a typical road race.
Packet pickup happens at the Iredell Health Foundation building on Hartness Road in the days before the event, with the start area opening early on race morning before an opening ceremony kicks things off. Strollers are welcome on course; dogs are not.
