About the Lace Up For Life 5K
This is a charity race that benefits a local women's center, so the morning has a purpose behind it beyond just the run. The course is a standard road distance through Ankeny, and the crowd skews toward families and community supporters rather than competitive runners chasing a PR.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local sporting goods store, with race-morning pickup available at the start. The start and finish are at a Christian academy, and the post-race scene there includes food, inflatables, face painting, and tours of the women's center.
