The course starts near the keyhole area of Ala Moana and loops out through Magic Island, so you are running close to the water for most of it. Diamond Head sits on the horizon as the sun comes up, and the stretch along the coast gives you an open view back toward Waikiki. The road surface is smooth and the route stays flat.
