About the Krug Castle Challenge
The course loops Krug Park again and again, with participants choosing how far to push before calling it. The terrain has enough character that the organizers skip official timing for the shorter distances, which tells you something about the surface underfoot. Christmas lights are up along parts of the route, and a head lamp is worth bringing if you plan to run into the darker hours. Costumes are encouraged.
Parking is on the lower southwest side of the park, off St. Joseph Avenue, with street parking as overflow. Spots are first come, first served, and the organizers suggest carpooling. The main park entrance is closed on race day, so use the side lot access. Proceeds from the event benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and a local nonprofit.
