About the Kristen's Run Against Violence
The race starts and finishes at Tyler Park, a city park in Dunn. The course is a short road run, and the whole event is organized by the local police department as a benefit for SAFE of Harnett County, which serves survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The run is named for Kristen Caudle, a victim of domestic violence.
A DJ and other entertainment are set up at the park, so there is activity beyond the run itself for anyone who comes out. The atmosphere reflects the cause: the event draws people who are there to show up for the community as much as to race.
