About the Kona Chocolate Run
The course runs through Belle Isle, a state park island in the Detroit River, so the water and the city skyline stay in view for most of the run. You pass the Grand Prix pit lane, a fountain, a conservatory, and a clock tower, with views of the Ambassador Bridge and the Windsor skyline across the river. The road surface is flat throughout, with no traffic.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race, then again on race morning before the start. Parking is across from the post-race chocolate buffet area, with flags and arrows pointing the way. After you finish, the buffet has hot chocolate, chocolate ice cream, a dipping station, chocolate milk, fresh baked goods, and carved chocolate.
