About the Kirkwood School District Cross Country Meet
This is a youth cross country meet held at Kirkwood Park, bringing together elementary and middle school students from across the district. Races are split by grade and gender, with younger students running a shorter course and older students covering more ground. High school runners from the girls' cross country program also compete alongside the middle schoolers on the first day.
The meet runs across two consecutive afternoons, middle school grades first and elementary grades the following day. There is no entry fee for district families. A traveling team trophy goes to the top elementary school and the top middle school, determined by combined finishes from each school's leading runners.
