About the Kirby Derby
The Kirby Derby runs through Monticello on an open course, meaning traffic is managed by volunteers at intersections rather than closed roads. The route passes through recognizable parts of town, and longer-distance runners cover a stretch of it more than once. It is a road race with a neighborhood feel, and the proceeds support a local wellness trail.
Bib pickup runs the evening before at the park pavilion, with a second window early on race morning at the same spot. Same-day registration is available but handled entirely on your own mobile device, so no cash at the park. The start area is the pavilion, and awards follow shortly after the last runners finish.
