About the Kindred Fire Hero 5K & Kids Run
The race starts and finishes at the elementary school track, so the final stretch is a lap around a proper oval with spectators on the sides. The course itself runs through town, and the whole thing is tied to a larger local celebration happening that same weekend. It draws people out to honor the volunteer fire department, which the entry fees support.
Kids can run a short course alongside actual local firefighters, and there are fire trucks on site for photos after. The start and finish are on the same track as the main race, so families can watch both events from the same spot.
