About the Killen Founder's Day 5K
The course runs along JC Mauldin Hwy, a road route that starts and finishes at First Baptist Church Killen. It is a certified course, so runners chasing personal bests or state records will find it properly measured. The surrounding area is open road, and the race kicks off Founder's Day weekend, so there is a sense of occasion to the morning beyond just the running.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Killen Park during the Founder's Day festivities, which makes it easy to combine with the celebration. Race-morning pickup is available at the church before the start. Parking is free on-site. A coffee truck will be set up after the race, along with snacks and electrolytes at the finish area.
