About the Kids in Capes 5K and Fun Run

The course runs through North Upper Arlington, connecting Thompson Park with a second park along Reed Road, and stays mostly flat throughout. The race starts and finishes at Thompson Park, with a shorter kids dash and a walk/run option contained entirely within the park, so families spread across different distances end up back in the same place.

After the race, Thompson Park fills out with bounce houses, yard games, an obstacle course, face painting, cape and mask decorating, and a community art project. There is also a bake sale and silent auction, both tied to the foundation's pediatric cancer research work.
