About the Kevin Dendy Memorial 5K
The course starts at a local brewery and heads out along the River Walk, a path through Hillsborough's riverside green space. Parts of the route narrow considerably, including a covered bridge, so runners with dogs should keep that in mind. The race honors a former National Guard officer passionate about the outdoors, and proceeds go toward local youth and community programs.
Race-morning pickup starts well before the gun, so no separate trip is needed the day before. Dogs are welcome on the course, with the caveat that the narrower stretches require a bit of patience.
