About the Kerman Almond Festival Scholarship Fun Run/Walk
The race raises money for an agriculture scholarship, which fits the setting: Kerman is almond country, and the run feeds directly into the festival that follows it. There is a kids' run for younger participants alongside the main event, so families tend to show up together rather than dropping one runner off.
Packet pickup is the evening before at the Kerman Parks and Recreation office. The festival itself opens a couple of hours after the run finishes, so sticking around makes sense: food vendors, a baking contest using almonds, wine tasting, a car show, and live entertainment are all part of the same morning.
