About the Kentucky State Police "Running Signal 9" 5K

The course runs along the edge of Green River Lake in the evening, which changes the whole character of it. Police cruisers, glowsticks, and lights are scattered along the route to keep things visible after dark, and a DJ is set up near the start and finish at a campground pavilion. It is a charity run, with proceeds going toward a program that takes children Christmas shopping with troopers.

The pavilion at the campground serves as the gathering point before and after, so there is a central spot to meet up and settle in before the route heads out along the lake.
