About the Kentucky Cryptid Series - Bigfoot
The course runs through Jefferson Memorial Forest, winding along the Red, Orange, and Blue trails out of Horine Reservation. There is a stretch toward the Welcome Center and back, so the route has some shape to it rather than a simple out-and-back. Underfoot it is genuine forest trail, and the forest is dense enough that you feel well away from anything urban.
Packet pickup happens on-site near the parking lot before the start, so there is no separate trip the day before. Parking at Horine Reservation is tight, and the organizers ask runners to carpool. The restrooms at the start are outhouses, but cleaner portable restrooms sit a short walk down the campground lane. Water and packaged snacks are available after you finish.
