The course runs through Kensington Metropark, a large natural area west of Milford with trails and open land that give the route a parkland feel rather than an urban one. The race is held in memory of a woman named Kathy, and the group behind it has been running it long enough that a real community has built up around the event. The crowd tends to reflect that history.
