The Turkey Dash runs on a holiday morning in Katy, with several distance options from a short kids run up through a timed longer race. The course is based out of the Monty Ballard YMCA at Cinco Ranch on Westheimer Parkway, and the surrounding area is flat suburban terrain, with wide roads and open stretches that make pacing straightforward.

Packet pickup happens at the same YMCA across several windows in the days before the race, including early on race morning itself. Parking off-site is worth planning for: shuttles run from a nearby big-box store parking lot, with buses leaving frequently throughout the morning. Day-of registration is not available, so pre-registration is required.
