About the Katy Half Marathon & 5K
The course runs entirely on paved roads, starting and finishing at Typhoon Texas Waterpark. It is part of a larger regional race series, so you will see runners chasing series standings alongside first-timers just out for a morning run. Water stations along the route carry both water and sports drink for the half marathon distance.
The start and finish are based at the waterpark, with parking spread across large mall lots nearby. Police officers direct traffic at every entrance, and the lots fill progressively, so earlier arrival means more options. Packet pickup can be handled by mail beforehand, at a pre-race pickup window, or on race morning as a last resort.
