The course runs through Corporate Woods, a wooded office park on the edge of Overland Park. The terrain is gentle and the surroundings are shaded in places, which helps on a summer morning. The race supports brain cancer research, and the finish-area program sets aside time to recognize survivors and caregivers, which gives the morning a different weight than most local road races.
