About the Justify The Pie 5k and 15k Run/Walk

The course heads out from an elementary school onto back-country roads and trails, so the terrain shifts as you go. It is a Thanksgiving morning race, and the name tells you exactly what the crowd is thinking about. Proceeds go to a local nonprofit that works with homeless and mentally ill people in the area.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local care clinic, with an early-morning option at the start location on race day. The start area is in the school's parking lot off Greenly.

Common Questions About the Justify The Pie 5k and 15k Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Justify The Pie 5k and 15k Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:39, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:03:36, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Justify The Pie 5k and 15k Run/Walk a good first 5K?

A field of 218 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Justify The Pie 5k and 15k Run/Walk?

The 5K winner ran 17:45 while the median finisher took 32:39. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
