About the Johnstown, Alexandria & Granville Turkey Trot
The course runs on a paved bike path that starts and finishes at the Johnstown Trail Head. The surface is smooth the whole way, with no road traffic to deal with, and the out-and-back layout means the scenery is familiar on the return. Dogs are welcome, and strollers are permitted, so the crowd at the start tends to include the whole family unit, pets included.
Packet pickup happens race morning at the trail head, so there is no separate trip the day before. Parking is at the event site, with overflow in adjacent lots nearby, including one at the dog park right next to the start. There is personal pie, donuts, or cookies at the finish, along with snacks and refreshments.
